Sensory Integration

Sensory Issues

Sensory processing is the brain’s ability to process information from all our five  senses i.e.touch,smell,hear,smell, taste and connect that information with what we already know about the world around us.

When kids struggle to process sensory information kids overreact or underreact to things they hear ,see, taste touch or  smell. In this case ,therapists design a sensory diet for a child.Sensory diet includes a series of physicals that are designed to give kids the sensory input they need. Sensory diet is different as per the needs of the child. OTs may also use heavy work to help kids who seek or avoid certain kinds of sensory input
